What is the Principle of CNC Machining

CNC Machining refers to the processing with NC tools. CNC exponential control machine tool is programmed and controlled by NC processing language, usually G code. NC machining G code language tells CNC machine tool to use Cartesian position coordinates. It controls the feed speed and spindle speed of the tool, and it also has the functions of tool converter and coolant.

Compared with manual processing, CNC processing has great advantages. For example, the parts produced by NC processing are very precise and repeatable. CNC machining can produce parts with complex shape which can not be finished by manual processing. CNC machining technology has been widely promoted. Most of the machining workshops have the ability of CNC machining. The most common NC processing methods in typical machining workshops are CNC milling, CNC lathe and CNC EDM wire cutting (WEDM).

The tool for NC milling is called NC milling machine or NC machining center. The lathe for CNC turning is called CNC turning center. The G code of CNC machining can be programmed manually. But usually, the machining workshop uses CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software to automatically read the CAD (Computer Aided Design) files and generate G code program to control the CNC machine tools.
